Description: |
In 2000, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) began funding full time positions at Federal and state resource agencies. SCDOT currently funds six positions at the following agencies: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, and the. Since the establishment of these liaison positions, SCDOT has experienced a 35% reduction in the average time to obtain wetland permits and a nearly 60% reduction in average review times for the State Historic Preservation Officer.
