Potential Mitigation Measures - This illustration provides an example of potential mitigation measures as a result of highway impacts. the mitigation measures consider both the actual size of the impact and th functions lost as a result of the impact. Restoration/mitigation measures in this example include a vegetated buffer and relocated sidwalk along the new roadway, a relocated ballfield and replacement lands. In this example, other recreational elements, such as a gym set, have been added. Part of the mitigation process can involve recreational elements requested by the owner of the park that were not part of the original park setting.
